Educational background: Graduate of Southern Illinois University, undergraduate studies at American Institute for Paralegal Studies, Inc., internship as an independent investigator and expert witness for numerous insurance companies and law firms throughout Northern Illinois. Qualifications: Ten years experience as a law enforcement administrator and extensive prior education and experience in management as well as civil law and evidence, legal investigations, criminal law and family law. Also my vast experience as an independent claim and fraud investigator which included working with the Illinois State Police (NATB). This, along with years of experience as an elected public official, allows me rare administrative skills and insight which have reached from the County Board room and City Council Chambers.

"I believe our town has a very delicate eco balance. Our civic leaders must continue to maintain and enhance a healthy tourism and industrial base that supports not only tourism, but the area's major employers such as Etnyre, Woods and our numerous publishing companies and small industries. All this, while keeping in mind that suburban growth and development is knocking on our door. It is a must that strong and experienced Government Officials be in place to preserve the ambience of our one-of-a-kind town so that it never fall victim to the tidal wave of development heading our way, hence loosing its charming character and quality of life for our current residents and their generations to follow."

If elected Arians pledges to call upon his ten plus years as an elected public official and administrator for both County and Municipal Governments of Northern Illinois along with his many years of rapport with State and Federal elected officials as a vast resource pool to assist him in his duties as Mayor of Oregon. Mike has been recognized as an expert witness in State and Federal Courts throughout Northern Illinois on several occasions over the past 30 years

As Mayor of Oregon, IL Mike was Chief Administrator for the Oregon Police Department and after restructuring the City's payroll and merit system, he operated that department efficiently within or under its annual budget constraints for four years (1999-2003)

Invited to address students at Beloit College relative to his investigative skills and expert witness testimony.

Worked with State Representative Jerry Mitchell and State Senator Todd Sieben to recieve a $100,000 grant from Illinois First Funds to be applied to Oregon's Storm Water Sewer Seperation Project.

Negotiated with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency and The Illinois Attorney Generals Office to negate an imposed $3,000 per day fine on the City of Oregon relative to the Cities deliquency in upgrading its substandard storm water and sewer system.

Recieved the first POW flag to be flown at City Hall from UAW Local 1720.
